a compelling premise abandoned in favor of a shallow exercise in misery halfway through. an initial mystery that goes unexplored, even unmentioned for the entirety of the film after its title card, underdeveloped characters with little to get attached to, political commentary that's blunt, underdeveloped, and one-note. nobody learns, everybody suffers. not even the best score of 2025 with its pumping and menacing techno beats and a fantastic glittery synth crescendo for its finale and some admittedly amazing visuals can't save this one for me.
