Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World (2023)
2024-07-27
An essential piece of contemporary cinema. A stream of consciousness bombarding us with the many facets of how it feels like to live in the present day and how we got here: The horrors of modern capitalism meet communist film history. Black-and-white analogue film meets TikTok. Uwe Boll meets an Andrew Tate parody. A history lesson in corporate filmmaking meets a cynical rehash of a Bob Dylan video. The political failings of the EU intertwined with personal conflicts. The workers are overeducated for what they do and have to find creative ways to cope and blow off steam while working 16 hour days with no compensation. A moment of silence. Stay safe on the road and stay safe at work. Never blame the company, there only is yourself to blame.
